My research interests information retrieval, data mining, and machine learning with a focus on time-aware information retrieval and real-time social media search. As part of my dissertation work, I built techniques that leverage temporal signals from multiple sources on the Web to improve the ranking of search results.
I successfully defended my thesis in November 29, 2018. My advisors were João Magalhães in the NOVA Laboratory for Computer Science and Informatics (NOVA LINCS) at Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, and Jamie Callan in the Language Technologies Institute (LTI) at Carnegie Mellon University.
A CV summarizing my activities is available in Curriculum Vitae.
